Ste Foy Tarentaise - Ste Foy in Summer

While Sainte Foy Tarentaise is only starting to become better-known as a winter ski destination, as a summer destination, Ste Foy is virtually unheard of - which is good, as you therefore have the beautiful mountains to yourself if you want to, or likewise have easy access to all the summer activities in Tignes, Val d'Isere and Bourg St Maurice.

Although Ste Foy Ski Resort itself is considerably more attractive than many other resorts in summer, it is at the end of the day a ski station, and therefore prone to the problems encountered by many ski resorts in the summer months - many of the facilities such as shops, bars etc closed, likewise many chalets and apartments closed for the off-season, and often an amount of building work going on.

The best places to stay in summer therefore are Sainte Foy Village itself, or in one of the surrounding villages of La Thuile, La Mazure or Villaroger - real Alpine villages, where life still goes on after the ski season, and which offer you easier access for exploring the Tarentaise Valley, as well as for the active pursuits on offer in Tignes and Bourg-St-Maurice.
